Camping under the Edge of the Ice Field

Jose: When Jimmy and I met you in Jan 06 we sensed that you could guide us on a very challenging fishing experience in 2007 and you certainly did just that. The four of us have probably told the story to our friends too many times. We asked you for something different than the customary lodge trip most people get. The journey to O'Higgans was so very special, scenic, and challenging, but it is not for someone that wants a super fancy lodge every night. Members of our group have traveled and fished many places on this earth, but none more memorable than the camp out under the eastern edge of the ice field on the small peninsula on the lake. To see 20" plus browns going 10 plus feet for a dry fly is something to dream about and I do almost daily. You gave us everything we expected out of the trip and more. Having made the 15 hour driving trip once, I think I will fly both ways next time to give us more time to explore the area. We saw some chain lakes and lagoons from the air that makes me believe we just scratched the surface for available lakes. Food was excellent and the service likewise. The float tube/jet boat combination gave us good fishing flexibility. We enjoyed the camping part and appreciated the close proximity to great fishing. Jose, please feel free to have any future explorer/fly fisherman/clients call me for additional information. Say hello to everyone for us!
